Ps Benny Perez – Preaching that Packs a Punch

So Benny Perez is coming to SUMMIT!
I’ve been watching a few of his preaching clips and this man really knows how to use humour to bring a powerful message. Like this sermon illustration about inspecting sheep…

I also watched this video below about his church and the thing that strikes me is how closely their story parallels to ours. Starting out with just 20 or 30 people. Growing to a church of thousands. Ministering to hundreds of children at Kids Church each week. Reaching out to youth and seeing them encounter God. Starting new campuses and seeing them grow. Building a multi-generational church. Providing food and clothing to thousands across their area on a weekly basis. Partnering with community organisations. Working in local schools. All this because of a passion to see people of every age experience God’s love. Wow – sounds like they might just have a similar vision to us!

As the co-founders of The Church Movement, Ps. Benny and his wife Wendy started in 2003 with just a few believers gathering in their home. They now have several campuses including The Church LV, in South Las Vegas, The Church OC, in Irvine California, and The Church Online. In addition, Pastor Benny’s vision includes helping and equipping other pastors and ministries and The Church Movement hosts several conferences each year.

Ps Benny and his wife have been through some tough times in recent years, and so has their church. He’s written a book about it called More: Discovering the God of more when life gives you less. The promo for the book says, ‘Perez has walked through the valley, and has come out the other side humbled, strengthened, and passionate about Christ’s ability to meet us in our darkest moments.’ I for one, am keen to hear from someone with an introduction like that.

Here’s what he has to say about the book

Benny Perez was a youth pastor in Marysville, WA before starting The Church LV. He travels the globe and thousands of people have been touched by his unique preaching style which is marked by humour, passion and a genuine love for people. Here’s a sneak preview!
